After experiencing the many inconveniences related to neck pain (such as discomfort, and limited movement), we explored alternative methods for pain relief this season. Since professional treatments can be costly and time-consuming (with consultations lasting up to two hours and costing over $150 per session), and some of us are unable to attend appointments right now, we are looking for a practical alternative: at-home neck relief devices. Consult a healthcare professional before use.
We tested 24 at-home neck pain relief devices, including models from Neckslevel, Bodyopto, Cervicare, Halipax, and Ergoflex.
We rated the best four options based on the following criteria:
Results:
We evaluated how many weeks it took to observe a significant reduction in our neck pain, aiming for notable improvements after a few months of weekly use. Some of the tested devices proved to be very effective, providing long-lasting relief and significantly enhancing daily comfort. These devices have shown to be a viable solution for those suffering from chronic neck pain, offering a considerable reduction in symptoms.
Cost:
If you were to go the in-office route, it could end up costing up to £1000 (between 6-8 sessions for acute pain or a couple of months for chronic neck pain, are needed for neck pain relief). We were able to get great results with devices that ended up costing less than £1000, with the best results costing just around £189.99.
Safe for At-Home Use:
New York-based chiropractor and pain management specialist, Dr. Josh Zeichner, considers Ergoflex a safe and effective option for at-home neck pain therapy. "Ergoflex utilizes a combination of technologies, including dynamic traction, heat therapy, and electrotherapy, to provide targeted relief for neck pain," Dr. Zeichner explains. "These modalities work by gently stretching the cervical spine, increasing blood flow, and reducing muscle tension. This can help alleviate pain and improve mobility, making Ergoflex a convenient alternative to professional treatments."
We looked for options on the market that provide long-lasting relief from neck pain and are suitable for at-home use.
